Big Sean will work with the team on community outreach, expanding the global fan base, and creative projects that highlight Detroit on the world stage.

In honor of World Basketball Day, the Pistons and Big Sean unveiled “Creatives Across Continents,” a global initiative inviting designers and artists from around the world to create original works inspired by Detroit Basketball.

Selected artists will work with Big Sean and design pieces for a collaborative retail collection set to launch in 2026.

This initiative aims to honor Detroit’s creative legacy while expanding the Pistons’ reach worldwide.

“It’s been an honor to serve the Pistons community, and stepping into this expanded role as Creative Director of Global Experience allows me to do it on an even bigger scale,” Big Sean said. “Detroit has always been rich with talent and culture, and my mission is to keep opening doors and hiring our city’s creatives to shine alongside one of the most iconic franchises in sports. I’m grateful to the Pistons for trusting me to help define what the culture of Detroit Basketball really means.”

Big Sean previously served as the Pistons’ Creative Director of Innovation, offering guidance on team merchandise design, in-game experiences, and community initiatives.

Since joining the organization, Big Sean has collaborated on several projects, including the Pistons’ Don Life practice jerseys, the 2022-23 “St. C’s” Nike NBA City Edition Uniforms, the “Detroit Kickback” partnership announcement with StockX, and events like “Big Sean Night” at Little Caesars Arena and “A Night with the Orchestra” at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra last summer.

The Pistons and Big Sean plan to reveal more details about their partnership soon, including projects tied to NBA All-Star Weekend, 313 Day, retail collaborations, and fan engagement initiatives in 2026.
