Detroit 2 was released on Friday, with a slate of Detroit features, including Eminem, Royce da 59, Tee Grizzley, Kash Doll and even Stevie Wonder. Detroit 2 is Big Seans first solo studio album since I Decided in 2017, his second No. 1 album and was certified platinum by RIAA. Big Sean did release a song in 2019 titled Single Again, which featured a Detroit shot music video, including Local 4.

NEW YORK Naya Rivera, a singer and actress who played a gay cheerleader on the hit TV musical comedy Glee, was found dead Monday in a Southern California lake. What a force you were, wrote Glee co-star Jane Lynch on Twitter. She is survived by her parents, Yolanda and George; a younger brother, Mychal; a sister, Nickayla; and her 4-year-old son. Naya Rivera was a fierce talent with so much more to do and this is such a terrible tragedy. It was only two short years ago that Lil Nas X was a student at Lithia Springs High School in Georgia. His smash-hit debut single, Old Town Road, is currently the longest-running No. Prior to the songs release, Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was living with his sister, trying to figure out how he would make ends meet. "You're talking about somebody who has been sleeping on floors for months, trying to get some song to move," he said. I would just like, pray and pray.

The track opens with Ty Dolla $ign singing lyrics that sound like it's going to be a slow, emotional track. If you didn't know it was a Skrillex song, you wouldn't know what was coming, but 30 seconds in, the mood shifts and the beat changes. It's a combination that I wasn't really expecting, and the singing contrasts with the EDM side of the track, but it works. It's an energetic release from the Detroit rapper since he took a break from music to focus on his mental health. Hobo Johnson is slated to drop a new album, "The Fall of Hobo Johnson," on Sept. 13.

Detroit's Big Sean delivered an emotional tribute to Nipsey Hussle, a friend and fellow artist who was shot and killed last week in Los Angeles. Big Sean, performing at the Dreamville Festival, dedicated a verse to Nipsey. After the verse, Sean also thanked Nipsey for everything he contributed.
