FOWLERVILLE, Mich. – An estranged husband was killed on Christmas Day after reportedly breaking into a Livingston County home where the wife was visiting.

According to authorities, a 911 call was placed on Dec. 25, 2025, reporting a shooting at a home on Nicholson Road in Fowlerville. First responders found an armed man who had been shot and killed.

The homeowner reportedly called 911 after a man broke into his home and shot him twice. The homeowner returned fire and hit the suspect.

Authorities identified the man as the estranged husband of a woman who was visiting the homeowner that day. The husband reportedly drove about an hour from Lake Orion to the home.

The investigation is ongoing.
