According to authorities, Monroe County sheriff’s deputies later spotted the Explorer heading northbound near Sigler Road. When a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped off.

Authorities said the SUV swerved across all four lanes of North Telegraph Road, traveling at speeds between 20 and 70 mph. Deputies managed to deflate several tires near South Huron River Drive, but the vehicle continued northbound.

The driver allegedly made a U-turn and headed south before colliding head-on with a Monroe County patrol vehicle. After turning around again, the SUV resumed driving north.

Eventually, the vehicle left the road and drove through multiple parking lots on its rims before stopping outside a car wash near the intersection of Telegraph Road and Matilda Avenue.
