DETROIT – A woman was critically injured after her car caught fire following a rear-end collision with a semi truck in Detroit.
The crash happened at the intersection of Davison Street and Petoskey Avenue on Wednesday (Jan. 7) when the woman’s vehicle struck the semi truck, which was stopped at a red light.

Police said the impact caused the woman’s car to ignite.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
Officials are continuing to investigate the crash.
