SALINE, Mich. – After receiving an email from the Michigan Lottery, a 56-year-old Washtenaw County man logged into his account and discovered he had won a $1 million prize.
Brian Bauer, of Saline, matched the five white balls (10-16-29-33-69) in the drawing on Dec. 10 to win the prize, according to Michigan Lottery officials. He purchased his ticket online.

“I usually buy a few Powerball tickets online every week,” said Bauer. “After the drawing, I saw an email from the Michigan Lottery that said to log in to my account to view my prize, and I was shocked because I knew it meant I must have won big.”
“When I logged in and saw $1 million pending in my account, I was so excited! Winning a prize like this takes the pressure off and I’m grateful that I will be able to share it with the people I love," Bauer said.
The Washtenaw County man recently claimed his prize and told lottery officials that he plans to share the money with his family and friends.
The Powerball drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
