Winter conditions cause rollover crash, driver ejected and killed in Kenockee Township

KENOCKEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 37-year-old man from Kenockee Township died following a rollover crash caused by snow and ice-covered roads.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 7:24 p.m. on Jan. 10, near Kilgore Road-- north of Imlay City Road.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a rollover crash with one person ejected.

According to a preliminary investigation, snow and ice on the road contributed to the driver losing control of a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado.

The SUV veered off the left side of the road, entered a ditch, and overturned once.

The driver, who was the only occupant, was ejected during the rollover.

He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
