DETROIT – The former Detroit nurse accused of sexually assaulting multiple patients is facing more charges in five new sexual assault cases.
Wilfredo Figueroa-Berrios now faces numerous charges in at least 10 sexual assault cases.

He is expected to appear in court in separate jury trials in connection with the multiple charges filed against him.
On Jan. 21, 2026, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Figueroa-Berrios faces numerous charges in five new cases.
Here are the new charges Figueroa-Berrios faces:
New Case 1
On Dec. 23, 2021, at around 2 a.m., Figueroa-Berrios, who was employed at the Community Outreach for Psychiatric Emergencies in Livonia, allegedly sexually assaulted a 34-year-old Westland woman while she was admitted as a patient.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the case was sent to the Livonia Police Department in February 2022, but it was not discovered earlier because there were no documents in the prosecutor’s office’s new case management system. The prosecutor’s office emphasized this was not the police department’s fault.
When Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office found out in September 2025, Livonia police resent the warrant for review.
Figueroa-Berrios was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

New Case 2
On Dec. 18, 2024, at around 8 p.m. at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit, Figueroa-Berrios, who was a nurse employed there at the time, allegedly sexually assaulted a 22-year old Detroit woman while she was admitted as a patient.
He was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual misconduct.
New Case 3
On July 1, 2025, at around 3:10 p.m. at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Figueroa-Berrios, who was a nurse employed there at the time, allegedly sexually assaulted a 35-year-old Detroit woman while she was admitted as a patient.
He was charged with third and fourth-degree criminal sexual misconduct.
New Case 4
On July 28, 2025, at around 1 p.m. at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Figueroa-Berrios, who was a nurse employed there at the time, allegedly sexually assaulted a 24-year-old Detroit woman while she was admitted as a patient.
He was charged with two counts of sexual contact - misrepresentation of medical treatment and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
New Case 5
On Aug. 24, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m. at Sinai-Grace Hospital, Figueroa-Berrios, who was a nurse employed there at the time, allegedly sexually assaulted a 26-year-old Detroit woman while she was admitted as a patient.
He was charged with two counts of sexual contact - misrepresentation of medical treatment and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Arraignment
Figueroa-Berrios is expected to be arraigned on Jan. 22, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the 16th District Court.
