Farmington Hills activates warming centers as wind chills plunge

Dates and hours may be adjusted if necessary

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Farmington Hills is opening warming centers for community members in need due to anticipated extremely cold temperatures and wind chills.

The centers will be open starting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, through 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28.

Dates and hours may be adjusted if necessary.

Fire Station #5/Fire Headquarters, located at 31455 W. Eleven Mile Road, will be open daily from 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., beginning Thursday evening and ending Wednesday morning.

The Costick Activities Center at 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road will have extended hours: Friday, Jan. 23, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Jan. 24, through Sunday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Monday, Jan. 26, through Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The city is committed to the safety and well-being of its residents during this cold spell.

The line is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
