DETROIT – The shelter-in-place has been lifted at Wayne State University after a shot was fired in a dorm on campus Tuesday night.
A shot was fired just before 10 p.m. on Jan 27 at Chatworth Suites. Police said the shooting was between people who knew each other. A shelter-in-place order was issued shortly after.

According to the university, everyone involved left the building, and a gun was recovered. Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The shelter-in-place order lifted at around 12 a.m. on Jan. 28.
The investigation is ongoing.
