Detectives began investigating case in fall of 2025

A months-long investigation into a suspected drug trafficking organization operating in the Detroit and Downriver areas has led to 17 guns, $77,000 in cash, cocaine, marijuana and more being seized, police said.

The Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET) began investigating the organization in the fall of 2025, according to Michigan State Police. On Jan. 22, 2026, detectives executed six search warrants as part of the case.

During those searches, investigators seized the following:

  • 17 firearms
  • More than 800 grams of cocaine
  • 53 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • More than 14 pounds of marijuana
  • An unspecified amount of MDMA.

In addition to drugs and weapons, detectives also seized three cars and more than $77,000 in cash with the intent to forfeit.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.

MNET was assisted by several multi-jurisdictional task forces, the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, Downriver SWAT, the Taylor Police Department and Michigan State Police uniformed personnel, according to MSP.

Officials said the operation was supported by a federal Byrne Justice Assistance Grant administered by the Michigan State Police through the U.S. Department of Justice.
