Gordon said that at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Oakland University Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a fight in progress outside the entrance of Van Wagoner Hall.

Upon arrival, officers said they found a man, who was the victim, suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim had been let inside the building by an unknown person and was in need of immediate medical attention.

First responders transported the victim to McLaren Hospital, where he is currently being evaluated and has been prepped for surgery.

Gordon said the victim was not a student.

According to witnesses, Gordon said two suspects were involved in the altercation.

Gordon said suspect one is described as a Black man in his early 20s, about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, with chin-length dreadlocks, wearing a black North Face jacket, black pants, and white shoes with blue on the back.

Suspect two was also a Black man in his early 20s, with short curly hair, wearing a camouflage jacket with a black hood, black pants, and black shoes.

After the assault, Gordon said both suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV in Hamlin Circle, heading eastbound toward the Rochester Hills area.

Law enforcement is actively searching for the vehicle and suspects.

Gordon emphasized the ongoing campus lockdown, which remains in place until authorities confirm the suspects have left campus through surveillance.

He urged students and staff to be aware of their surroundings, travel in groups, and report any suspicious activity to the Oakland University Police Department at 248-370-3331.

Gordon could not confirm the motive behind the fight or the identity of the person who let the victim inside the building.

He also noted that the entire campus, including areas where students may be practicing activities such as swimming, remains locked down for safety.
