Win this year’s Super Bowl with a nutritious game plan

Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest holiday for overconsumption for Americans, dietician says

In just a couple of days, millions will be tuning in for Super Bowl 60. With the big game comes big food.

Americans are expected to eat nearly 1.5 billion chicken wings this Super Bowl, which is 10 million more than last year.

To put that in perspective, if you laid all of those wings end-to-end, they’d circle Earth almost three times.

It’s not just wings; football fans will drink about 325 million gallons of beer over the weekend, enough to fill an Olympic-sized pool almost 2,000 times.

The average person consumes up to 2,400 calories and 121 grams of fat during the game alone.

So, how can we be a little more mindful this Super Bowl Sunday? Dietitian Jenna Siegert from Henry Ford Health joined Local 4 Live to help us navigate it. You can watch the full interview at the beginning of this article.
