After most of the region saw a little bit of snow overnight Thursday night into early Friday morning, we are going to keep the snow in the forecast.

Our next snowmaker moves through the region throughout the day on Friday, thanks to a cold front moving from the northwest down to the south and east throughout the day. Snow is expected throughout the morning, changing to snow showers or snow squalls Friday afternoon into early Friday evening. High temperature is warming into the load of mid 30s by the time we get to Friday afternoon.

Once this front boundary moves through the region by Friday afternoon, we will clear the clouds out overnight Friday night and early on Saturday morning, and that will usher in another Arctic blast with another round of dangerously cold wind chills overnight Friday night through the first part of the day on Saturday.

With gusty winds overnight Friday night through the first part of the day on Saturday, in tandem with that Arctic air mask, wind chills will drop as low as -15° to -20° overnight Friday through midday on Saturday. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for the entire region through 12:00 PM on Saturday due to how the wind chill temperatures are forecasted to go.

We will bring Sunshine back into the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend on Saturday, before cloud cover increases late Saturday night into the end of the weekend on Sunday.

A weak system will move north of the region by the time we get to the start of next week on Monday, so we will keep the cloud cover in the forecast on Monday, and a few snowflakes are possible north of Metro Detroit as we work throughout the day.

Then the warming trend will continue into the second half of the week. Cloud cover sticks around for the middle of the week on Wednesday, before a chance of rain and snow showers moves in on Thursday. Then we dry things out by the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures will be above the freezing mark by Tuesday and will continue to warm slowly. Expect high temperatures into the upper 30s to near 40° by the time we get to Thursday afternoon.
