Wayne County Airport Authority seeks aggravated assault charge after DTW crash The man was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis and was arrested on the spot
The Wayne County Airport Authority Police Department is outlining the charges they want to file against the man who drove into the McNamara Terminal.
The crash occurred on Feb. 5
Video showed the driver take a sharp right turn into the terminal’s glass doors before stopping at a Delta Air Lines counter.
Airport police say they want to charge him with aggravated assault, malicious destruction of property, operating while intoxicated, and reckless driving.
The Wayne County prosecutor’s office says it’s reviewing the case and considering charges.
