Missing person report leads Detroit police to find 3 bodies in southwest home

Detroit police investigate a triple homicide on the city's southwest side on Feb. 18, 2026. (WDIV)DETROIT – A report of a missing person led to the discovery of three dead bodies on Detroit’s southwest side.
They were found at about 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18, at a house on Edsel Street, near Francis Avenue.
Police said they responded to reports of a missing person and were approached by someone claiming they had been assaulted at a nearby house.
Police said they entered the home and found the bodies of three men in the basement.
Police have not released the victims’ ages or how long the bodies had been there and it is unknown if the missing person is connected.
Michigan State Police are assisting Detroit police in the investigation.
No other information has been released at this time.
