Tigers games will begin airing on the network this season, while Red Wings broadcasts will transition to DSN starting with the 2026-27 season.

Streaming subscription options and pricing

Detroit SportsNet will be available through traditional cable and satellite packages throughout Michigan once distribution agreements are finalized. In the meantime, fans in the local market can sign up for streaming subscriptions.

Two in-market streaming plans are available:

  • Monthly: $19.99
  • Annual: $189.99 (more than 20% savings over 12 months)

Fans who subscribe by March 22 can take advantage of a special introductory offer, allowing them to stream Tigers games, including Opening Day in San Diego, at no cost through April 1.

Those who choose the annual plan can combine the built-in savings with the introductory promotion, gaining access to the full 2026 Tigers season and a significant portion of the 2026-27 Red Wings season before the subscription renews on April 1, 2027.

Tigers games will stream through the MLB App, which is available across web, mobile and connected TV platforms.

In addition to live games, the app gives fans access to highlights, statistics and league-wide news.

Details about how to use the subscription to watch 2026-27 Red Wings games are expected to be released this summer.

“As is customary with new television channels, discussions with cable/satellite distributors are ongoing,” according to the release from Illitch Sports + Entertainment. “Once agreements are finalized, a list of providers carrying Detroit SportsNet and specific channel assignments will be shared.”

Tigers DSN transition comes amid strong viewership numbers

The Tigers head into the new broadcast home with strong momentum. The team recorded historic viewership numbers during the 2025 season, including a 121% increase in average per-game streamers and a 101% jump in per-game household impressions. Only five U.S.-based MLB teams posted higher per-game viewership totals last season, with just two teams finishing with a higher average rating.

The Tigers’ broadcast team, led by play-by-play voices Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson alongside analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petry, is considered as one of the best in baseball.

Red Wings broadcast transition set for 2026-27

Red Wings broadcasts will stay on the FanDuel Sports Network through the end of the 2025-26 season.

Fans do not need to make any immediate changes to continue watching games.

The Red Wings rank fifth in household rating as of the Olympic break and are tied for third in household viewership among the 25 U.S.-based NHL teams.

The team’s telecasts, led by longtime play-by-play announcer Ken Daniels and analyst Mickey Redmond, were voted the NHL’s top broadcast in back-to-back seasons (2024-25) in The Athletic’s annual fan survey, according to the release. The duo is expected to remain at the forefront of Red Wings coverage as the franchise transitions to the DSN.
