Detroit police search for man in non-fatal shooting involving vehicle with children inside

DETROIT – Police are searching for a man who fired shots into a vehicle with children inside, striking the driver and leaving him in critical condition.

The incident occurred on Tuesday (March 3) at 12:50 p.m. in the area of Puritan and Prevost avenues.

Police said the man fired shots into the victim’s vehicle, striking the victim, who was a man in his 20s, leaving him in critical condition.

Officials said three children, ages 10, 1-year-old, and a 7-month-old, were inside the vehicle at the time.

Police said none of the children were injured.

Following the shooting, officials said the victim drove to a business in the 15800 block of W. McNichols, where medics responded and transported him to a Metro Detroit hospital.
