He was off-duty at the time, but was quickly suspended by the department.

The family, which consisted of three men and a 59-year-old woman, said that they had never seen Shaw before.

One of the family members said he smelled like alcohol and yelled at him to leave. Shaw reportedly told them they needed to follow his orders because “he is a cop.”

A police report said Shaw stormed into the house and began fighting with one of the men as another family member called the police.

He reportedly refused to get in the police cruiser during his arrest before he was taken to jail.

The next day, Shaw claimed that he was trying to prevent the family from receiving a ticket for illegal parking and that the family was the aggressor.

Shaw was charged with first-degree home invasion, resisting and obstructing, entering a home without permision and assault and battery.

He was released on bail.

In January, Shaw pleaded guilty to charges of entering without the owner’s permission and assault and battery. His charges of home invasion and resisting arrest were dismissed.

On Monday, March 2, Shaw was sentenced to one year probation.
