In a complaint filed in February, an FBI Special Agent, who worked as a member of the Northeast Michigan Trafficking and Exploitation Crimes Task Force and was assigned to FBI’s Detroit Division and Flint Resident Agency, said the investigation into Trevor Leo Petherbridge began on October 16, 2025.

It was then, according to court records, that a woman reported her 11-year-old daughter had been sexually exploited online. She discovered her daughter in a Google Chat conversation with a user going by the display name “Some Guy” and the email “silvereyedhawk@gmail.com.”

Within that chat, the feds said the user “requested child pornography” from the minor victim. The user “self-identified as being 23 years old,” while the girl was only 11. After that, according to the complaint, the user requested an image of the child’s genitals in exchange for money.

With the mother’s consent, agents searched the girl’s device and Google account. They said they found the chat and two close-up images of female genitals that were sent between Oct. 13 and Oct. 16, 2025.

During a child abuse forensic interview, the girl confirmed she had been chatting with the user and said she sent two images to the unknown male in exchange for $500. When shown the images, she identified them as herself.

Investigators then learned records for the “silvereyedhawk” account showed a billing address in Grand Blanc, Michigan, a phone number, and a recovery email containing the name “petherbridge.” State and public records connected Trevor Leo Petherbridge to the Grand Blanc address and the same phone number.

On Feb. 25, 2026, federal agents searched Petherbridge’s Grand Blanc home, where he said he lived in the basement bedroom. They found one cell phone and another on top of his bed. A preview of the phone he was carrying showed the Google account “silvereyedhawk@gmail.com” with the display name “Some Guy.”

The FBI said in the phone from his bedroom, there were several child sexually abusive files “within the image gallery,” including the same images the 11-year-old had sent.

According to court documents, Petherbridge agreed to speak with investigators, confirmed his phone number and the same email address. When shown screenshots of the conversation between the 11-year-old girl and the “silvereyedhawk” account, Petherbridge allegedly admitted that it was him. He told agents he paid the girl for the images with Amazon gift cards and acknowledged that he knew she was 11 years old, the feds said.

Petherbridge also told agents he had contacted between 20 and 30 girls between the age of 11 and 17 on social media to request pornographic images or videos, the complaint said. He said he received explicit files from “between two and ten” of them. The most he paid for produced child sexually abusive material, he allegedly said, was $600, in the form of two $300 Amazon gift cards.

Petherbridge is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on March 16, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Detroit.
