STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – One person was injured, and two others were arrested after a shooting that followed a fight between juveniles in Sterling Heights.

The incident occurred on Sunday (March 15) at 8:25 p.m. in the north/east plaza parking lot of 18 Mile Road and Dequinder Road.

Police said the victim was treated at a Metro Detroit hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and was released.

Through coordinated work by responding officers and the SHPD detective bureau, two suspects were taken into custody: one juvenile and one adult, according to the department.

Preliminary information indicated the individuals involved do not live in Sterling Heights and that the incident appears isolated and not a random act of violence.
