Michigan mom facing charges after 5-year-old daughter found with lacerations in woods

Judges sets woman bond at $1 million

BENZIE COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan mother is facing charges after her 5-year-old daughter was found in the woods with lacerations on her neck and face.

Christina Kay Crow, 40, of Benzie County, has been charged with assault with intent to murder and first-degree child abuse, according to UpNorthLive.

Deputies responded to Crow’s home on Lincoln Avenue in Thompsonville for a well-being check on April 20. While they were investigating, they reportedly became concerned about the whereabouts of her daughter.

An hour and a half later, deputies found the 5-year-old in the woods behind Crow’s home.

She had serious lacerations to her neck and face, and was taken to the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, according to UpNorthLive. The girl was then taken to DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids for additional treatment.

Deputies arrested Crow at the scene.

She was arraigned on April 22, and a judge set her bond at $1 million cash/surety.
