Weather: Hot, humid air fuels risk for severe storms Tuesday in Metro Detroit

Summer-like heat and humidity continue to dominate the region today, setting the stage for another active round of severe weather later this afternoon and evening as a cold front moves into the area.

Warm and windy... Gusts will reach 30 mph today ahead of the storms. The standing record high for this date is 91 degrees, set back in 1934. The combination of heat, humidity and an approaching cold front will create favorable conditions for thunderstorms to rapidly develop during the afternoon hours.
