Metro Detroit enjoys a quiet day today as the Woodward Dream Cruise kicks off with mainly dry conditions across the region. Clouds will mix with some sunshine, with temperatures warming into the 80s.
We should spend much of the Dream Cruise dry tomorrow until the weather pattern changes late Saturday as increasing moisture and an approaching system brings a growing chance for showers and thunderstorms by the evening and into the overnight.

The main concern will be heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding, particularly along and south of I-94. Areas that experience repeated thunderstorms could pick up several rounds of rain in a relatively short period of time. There is also a Marginal Risk for strong to severe thunderstorms extending from the Lansing area toward Monroe and southwest through Lenawee County. The strongest storms could produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall.
Additional showers and thunderstorms are likely Sunday, although rain coverage should become more scattered at times.
The good news is that a return to drier and less humid weather is expected early next week. Monday and Tuesday are currently shaping up to be much more comfortable, with lower humidity and a mix of clouds and sunshine as high temperatures stay in the 80s.
