MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – The Macomb Symphony Orchestra has a new story to put on its stage.
“Journey: From slavery to freedom” is a nine-part musical written by Detroit composer Norah Duncan.
The musical blends traditional African American spirituals with jazz, blues, and afrobeats.
The performance features all-star musicians and explores the emotional journey from bondage to freedom through music.
Andrew Neer with the Macomb Symphony Orchestra and Amber Rogers a vocalist, joined Local 4 Live to the story of the musical.
