Man dies after being pulled from Livingston County lake

Howell man was paddle boarding before falling into water, police say

GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Howell man has died after being pulled out of Briggs Lake in Livingston County.

Police from the Green Oak Township were dispatched to the area of Briggs Lake for a report of a man found in the water at around 1 p.m. on June 21.

Authorities say they conducted a water rescue along the shoreline on the 51-year-old man.

Life-saving measures were initiated immediately and continued upon the arrival of Livingston County EMS, say police.

The man was transported by an ambulance to a local area hospital.

Authorities say the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Preliminary information the man had been paddle boarding on Briggs Lake when he fell from the board into water.

This incident is currently under investigation by the Green Oak Township Police Department.
