WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Three Detroit men were convicted in the fatal 2025 shooting of a 6-year-old boy who was struck by a stray bullet while playing inside his home, while a third defendant had previously pleaded guilty in the case.
A Wayne County jury found Demontrel Benard Wilson, 30, guilty of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person on Thursday (Aug. 6).
Terrance Jaland Blue, 28, was convicted on all charges, including first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to discharge a firearm from a vehicle causing death, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle causing death, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
The convictions stem from the July 27, 2025, killing of Rylee Love, who was six years old.

Prosecutors said the defendants fired multiple rounds from a vehicle into a group of people gathered near the intersection of Anglin Street and Stender Avenue on Detroit’s east side.
Authorities said stray bullets entered a home in the 17400 block of Anglin Street, where Love was playing in a bedroom, and struck him in the head.
Detroit police officers responding to reports of gunfire around 8:58 p.m. were flagged down by the child’s relatives.
Love was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The investigation led to the arrests of Wilson, Blue and Deonate Cornealous Cherry, 28, on Aug. 20, 2025.
Cherry pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on July 21, 2026, under a sentencing agreement calling for 20 to 40 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections.
He is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 21.
Wilson and Blue are scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 2.
