DETROIT – The Detroit People Mover was back in service as of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, after shutting down Monday evening due to a software issue.
Officials reported Monday that service would be stopped for the rest of the night while maintenance crews work to identify the problem.

Maintenance personnel conducted overnight diagnostics and tested system components to ensure safe service, according to a Detroit People Mover post shared to X around 9 a.m..
No additional details about the software issue were immediately released.
