54-year-old shot in Monroe County may have been an isolated incident, authorities say

The incident remains under investigation and leads are still being pursued

MONROE COUNTY, Mich – Police believe that the 54-year-old man left for dead after being shot in South Rockwood was part of an isolated incident.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the incident remains under investigation, and leads are still being pursued.

Police say there doesn’t appear to be any threat to the public.

The Sheriff’s Office has said at this time they will not be releasing any additional information.

A report for a man shot came from a 911 call on July 12 at around 7 a.m.

Allegedly, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and were last seen traveling westbound on S. Huron River Dr.

The man was transported to a local hospital; police say the man died of his injuries shortly after arrival.
