Water main break causes flooding on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak

ROYAL OAK – A water main break is impacting the morning commute in Royal Oak on Woodward Avenue near Catalpa, with traffic being diverted away from the area.

As of 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, crews on the scene said the water main break had been capped and the water is draining. Significant flooding could still be seen in the northbound lanes of the roadway.

The city is asking drivers to avoid the area if possible as the roadway is cleared of debris.
