A beautiful stretch of late-summer weather continues across Metro Detroit as cool mornings, warm afternoons, and plenty of sunshine remain in the forecast through the end of the workweek. Temperatures started the day in the 50s, making for a refreshing morning across Southeast Michigan. Sunshine will dominate once again this afternoon, with highs climbing into the upper 70s while humidity remains low, creating ideal conditions for spending time outdoors.
Dry weather is expected to continue through Friday, extending the streak of pleasant weather before a more active pattern develops this weekend. The next chance for showers and thunderstorms arrives late Saturday night into Sunday as warmer, more humid air begins to move back into the Great Lakes. At this time, rainfall appears to be scattered rather than widespread, so not everyone will see rain during the weekend. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s over the weekend, with humidity steadily increasing.
Looking ahead to early next week, conditions are expected to become very warm and humid from Sunday through Tuesday. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s to lower 90s, while dew points climb into the 60s and lower 70s, making it feel more tropical. The strongest weather system is currently projected to arrive sometime late Monday into Tuesday, bringing the best opportunity for more widespread showers and thunderstorms. While it’s still too early to determine the exact timing or severity, this system will be worth watching as it moves toward Southeast Michigan.
