DETROIT – Detroit police arrested six people and seized more than $75,000 worth of suspected narcotics while executing search warrants tied to a drug trafficking investigation.
Officers with the Detroit Police Department’s Major Violators Section served search warrants Tuesday (July 28) at homes in the 2200 block of Andrus Street and the 17000 block of Arlington Street.
The Arlington Street search was conducted in cooperation with the Michigan State Police, which was searching for a suspect in a non-fatal shooting, police said.
The investigation resulted in four felony arrests and two misdemeanor arrests.
Authorities said officers recovered about 833.6 grams of suspected cocaine, 58.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 249.5 assorted pills.
Police also seized $30,426 in cash, a watch, a chain, one vehicle, firearm accessories, and equipment used to manufacture and package narcotics.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $75,023, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police did not immediately release the identities of those arrested or announce any formal charges.
Detroit police encouraged residents to report emergencies by calling or texting 911 and to report non-emergency crimes by calling the department’s non-emergency line.
