Detroit police arrest suspect wanted in fatal shooting on city’s east side

DETROIT – Detroit police have apprehended the suspect sought in connection to a fatal shooting on the city’s east side Friday night.

Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning, the Detroit Police Department (DPD) issued a statement seeking tips from the public to help identify and locate the “armed and dangerous” man they believe shot two women -- killing one and critically injuring the other -- in the 15500 block of E. Warren Ave.

The shooting occurred around 11:15 p.m. on Friday and the suspect fled the scene on foot, according to DPD -- which provided an update around 9 a.m. Saturday that the suspect was in custody.
