WARREN – What began as a driving lesson between a father and daughter on Sunday afternoon ended in tragedy after the 62-year-old Warren man was fatally struck by the vehicle.
Police say the man was teaching his 18-year-old daughter how to parallel park around 4 p.m. in the 24000 block of Warner Avenue, when she reportedly struck her father and dragged him a short distance before coming to a stop.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash immediately and transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. According to police, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in the crash and the victim’s daughter is fully cooperating with investigators.
The incident remains under investigation and detectives are asking that anyone with information about the crash reach out to Detective Jason Vandervord with the Warren Police Department at 586-574-4741.
