DETROIT – A 25-year-old resident of Sterling Heights died Sunday following an early morning accident in Detroit.
At around 3 a.m. police were called to a rollover accident on the south bound side of I-75 near McNichols Road.

The accident closed I-75 closed from seven mile road to Nichols for about three hours.
Witnesses of the crash say the 25-year-old driver lost control and hit the median wall. His vehicle became disabled in the center lanes when it was hit by a Ford Explorer.

The driver of the Ford Explorer was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash; however, the crash is still under investigation. Investigators are trying to determine if seatbelts were being used by either driver.
