DETROIT – New pushes aim to get more Detroiters to join the Detroit police force.
Four full-time recruiters attend community events to discuss what being in the Detroit Police Department's ranks is like and encourage people to become officers while answering questions.
"It's just so many things that a lot of people just don't know," recruiter Jency Payne said.
The recruiters focus primarily on enticing middle and high school students to consider DPD.
