HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. – An bookstore in Highland Park is out of business because, police say, a prostitution ring was operating at it.
Investigators say the operation has been going on for years at the World Wide News store on Woodward Avenue south of McNichols Road. Police say it attracted men from all across the state.
Police raided the store Thursday after a 6-month investigation.
"The lengthy investigation uncovered several illegal activities operating in the business including prostitution and sexual misconduct," said Det. Paul Thomas, of Highland Park police.
No individuals have been charged yet. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
