DETROIT - Shots were fired at Detroit police officers Friday on the city's west side, police said.
The shooting happened in the area of Puritan and Manor avenues at about 8:15 p.m. Police said officers did not return fire.
Police said a passenger in the back seat of a car that was pulled over for running a yield sign got out and fired a shot at police before running.
A helicopter with a camera followed the shooter before officers caught up with him, police said.
The shooter, a 23-year-old man, went to the hospital with an injured foot.
Police said no officers were hit or injured. Four people were arrested, police said.
