Michigan said it is aware of threats received by MSU.

Police said the East Lansing police chief and an employee at MSU received letters that police believe are from the same person.

Police said the threats weren't aimed at specific teams or players, but with the biggest athletic event of the season coming this weekend, police are warning attendees.

Despite the threats, students didn't appear too worried.

"It's just something our generation has to deal with," said MSU sophomore Keenan Cleaver. "There are always nutjobs."

Police do not know if the threats are real, but security teams train regularly to be prepared for situations such as potential threats.

U-M has contacted state and federal agencies for help ahead of the football game.

Also, Michigan Stadium has a world-class camera system.

MSU alumni Todd Petty said he doesn't "think anybody really takes it seriously," though he thinks the schools are doing the right thing.
