BROOKLYN, Mich. – Michigan International Speedway is inviting fans to contribute to the future of the racetrack and the excitement of race weekends by becoming members of the Fan Advisory Board.

What is the FAB board?

The FAB provides a unique opportunity to communicate directly with the MIS staff and fans about the guest experience, as well as assist in the future of the track.

"We appreciate all the feedback we get from our fans, whether it be positive or suggestions for improvements," track President Roger Curtis said. "It is important to us that we maintain an open line of communication with our guests as we strive to make their experience at the track enjoyable every time. The Fan Advisory Board allows us to talk directly to our fans and has provided many great ideas through the years."

MIS has been at the forefront in the racing community for its unprecedented commitment to guest experience. It's the advice and trust from a fellow race fan that makes MIS a real community of not just guests, but a family.

The FAB is associated with many functions at MIS – planning, advertising, logistics – and members will have an opportunity to improve all facets of the track. The track believes all ideas are important and appreciates all feedback. The FAB is also in charge of answering all questions that are submitted on mispeedway.com via the fan-to-fan network.

"The MIS Fan Advisory Board really cares about the fans and that starts with the track," FAB member Betsy DeVilbiss-Grubb said. "MIS is always looking and seeking input to make the fan experience the best. As a five-year member of the board, I have seen the track make many of the changes we have suggested such as the food, the ticket prices and even the width of the seats. It is not a large time commitment, but it is fun to share our passion for the track with the fellow fans."

MIS appreciates all feedback and wants to hear from its loyal fan base. And what a better way than hearing directly from you, the fans?

What does it mean to be a member of FAB?

All MIS asks in return is that you are passionate about Michigan International Speedway and its overall success for generations to come. Share your knowledge of racing and the track with fellow fans through the FAB.

FAB members will have the opportunity to help all first-time visitors or even some repeats guest to the track through the MIS Rookie Pit Stop. All fans are encouraged to stop by the welcome tent to ask FAB members for some insider tips and advice on how to understand the speedway and sport of NASCAR.

"It is a very rewarding experience working with the MIS leadership team," FAB member Mike Carpenter said. "The enthusiasm the MIS staff has for the fans comes through to the board. We are just as passionate about making MIS successful, making the fan experience memorable. We really have a passion for that. It is very rewarding to get involved. We interact with so many other MIS fans over the course of a race weekend. We go out to talk to them, ask them how things are going, if they have any suggestions and then we can forward that information, those suggestions to Roger, Tim (Booth) and the rest of the MIS staff.  If you really have a passion for helping people, this is a great spot to be because that is what drives me. I love helping people. It is very rewarding. I would highly encourage people that have that kind of passion to apply for the board."
