Tigers sign LH pitcher Tom Gorzelanny

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers are adding lefthanded pitcher Tom Gorzelanny to their bullpen, the team announced Tuesday.

Gorzelanny has agreed to a 1-year contract with the club. Contract details have been released.

"We are pleased to add a veteran pitcher like Tom to our ballclub," said Tigers President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager David Dombrowski in a statement. "Tom is an established reliever who can help solidify the bullpen on the left side and will be a nice addition to our roster."

The 32-year-old compiled a 0-0 record, a 0.86 ERA (21.0IP/2ER) and 23 strikeouts in 23 relief appearances for the Milwaukee Brewers during the 2014 season. He began the season late recovering from offseason left shoulder surgery and ended up not allowing a run in 20 of his 23 appearances in 2014.
