Max Scherzer, who won the 2013 Cy Young Award, is reportedly leaving Detroit for the nation's capital.
National media reports says Scherzer, as expected, has signed a 7-year, $210 million contract with the Washington Nationals. About $105 million will be deferred beyond the length of the contract.

He'll join another former Tiger, Doug Fister, in the Nats rotation.
Scherzer turned down a 6-year contract extension from the Tigers last March that was reportedly worth $144 million.
Scherzer went 18-5 with a 3.15 ERA and 252 strikeouts for the Tigers in 2014.
