Concrete falls from Comerica Park after game; no one injured

DETROIT – The Tigers lost and Comerica Park came crumbling to the ground.

Large pieces of concrete fell and shattered on the concourse behind first base at Comerica Park after the Tigers game Sunday.

Luckily, no one was injured.

The Tigers confirmed that a piece of the 100 level concourse did fall.

Local 4 spoke to Bob Flynn, who was leaving the stadium along with thousands of other fans when the concrete fell.

Flynn said the concrete fell at least 20 feet. He said workers at Comerica Park acted quickly.

It is unclear what caused the concrete to fall, but it appears that an area of the stadium is roped off. The Tigers said they are looking into the cause.

They said it is not a major problem and Tuesday's game will not be affected.
