DETROIT – The Detroit Lions have placed running back Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve, which means he will miss a minimum of 8 games.
The IR designation means Abdullah will miss at least half the season. The league now allows teams to take one player off injured reserve and back on the 53-man roster eight weeks after he’s placed on injured reserve.
