Lions announce 'major renovations' in letter to season ticket holders

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions are anticipating some major changes in the 2017 season, and they aren't all related to the team's roster.

In a letter to season ticket holders, the Lions announced that the Ford family will be investing about $100 million into the stadium. Changes will apparently include new video boards, a new sound system and "major renovations to several areas of Ford Field."

The letter said that fans can expect to hear about the renovations "in the coming weeks."

The Lions also made an announcement about uniforms following the discreet release of an adjusted logo.

"We'll also be unveiling four new uniforms on April 13 and are eager to share them with you," the letter says. "Stay tuned."
