Here are the latest rumors and buzz from around the league:

The Detroit Red Wings could be sellers:

MARCH 1 UPDATE: Elliotte Friedman reports Thomas Vanek being traded to Florida for third-round pick.

TSN reporting Panthers giving up Dylan Mcllrath, and Detroit retaining 50 percent of salary.

UPDATE: The Red Wings have confirmed the trade: Red Wings acquire 2nd Rd draft pick in 2018 and a 3rd Rd draft pick in 2017 from the Rangers in exchange for D Brendan Smith.

Toronto is rumored to be interested in Smith, along with Riley Sheahan. Calgary also rumored in the mix.

Darren Dreger reports that "3-4 teams" are looking at Sheahan, including the Maple Leafs. 

March 1: Detroit Red Wings trade F Steve Ott to Montreal Canadiens for sixth-round pick in the 2018 Draft 

Colorado looking to move Duchene/Landeskog?:

The Avs are shopping Matt Duchene, but aren't opposed to holding off on trading him until after the season is over.

Sportsnet says: "They're telling everyone they're not changing what they want. Three or four pieces, depending on the age. A young defenseman or a goaltender. And they have told everybody, if they don't get what they want, they'll take it to the end of the season."

Darren Dreger reports the Islanders as a good fit.

Yahoo's Josh Cooper spoke to a Colorado team source and wrote Tuesday that unless the Avs general manager Joe Sakic gets blown away with an offer, both Duchene and Landeskog will mostly likely stay put.

Tampa Bay trades Brian Boyle:

Tampa Bay Lightning trade F Brian Boyle to Toronto Maple Leafs for F Byron Froese, conditional second-round pick in 2017 Draft.

Carolina making Justin Faulk available?

Edmonton Journal reports that defenseman Justin Faulk is available at the deadline. The 24-year-old is having one of his worst seasons with the Hurricanes. 

Winnipeg Jets getting calls on Drew Stafford:

Stafford would become a free agent after this season, and Craig Custance reports a lot of interest in the forward.

Ottawa shopping Curtis Lazar:

According to Bruce Garrrioch, the Senators have been offered a second-round pick for Lazar, but the team wants a first rounder instead.

Islanders getting calls on Jaroslav Halak:

According to NHL analyst Kevin Weekes, the Oilers, Flames and Bruins are interested in the Islanders' 31-year-old goalie.

Vancouver Canucks trade F Jannik Hansen to San Jose Sharks for F Nikolay Goldobin, conditional fourth-round pick in 2017 Draft.

Montreal Canadiens trade F David Desharnais to Edmonton Oilers for D Brandon Davidson.

Dallas Stars trade D Johnny Oduya to Chicago Blackhawks for F Mark McNeill and conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2018 Draft.

Carolina Hurricanes trade F Viktor Stalberg to Ottawa Senators for third-round pick in 2017 Draft.

New York Rangers trade D Mat Bodie to Buffalo Sabres for F Daniel Catenacci.

Dallas Stars trade D Jordie Benn to Montreal Canadiens for D Greg Pateryn, fourth-round pick in 2017 Draft 

Vancouver Canucks trade F Alexandre Burrows to Ottawa Senators for F Jonathan Dahlen.

St. Louis Blues trade D Kevin Shattenkirk and G Pheonix Copley to Washington Capitals for 2017 first-round pick, conditional draft picks and forwards Zach Sanford and Brad Malone.

The Los Angeles Kings acquired Ben Bishop from the Tampa Bay Lightning in a trade that includes goalie Peter Budaj and an exchange of draft picks, reports ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.

Dallas Stars trade F Patrick Eaves to Anaheim Ducks for conditional second-round pick in 2017 Draft.

Carolina Hurricanes trade D Ron Hainsey to Pittsburgh Penguins for F Danny Kristo, second-round pick in 2017 Draft. 

Arizona Coyotes trade D Michael Stone to Calgary Flames for third-round pick in 2017 Draft, conditional fifth-round pick in 2018.

The Minnesota Wild traded a 2017 first-round pick, 2018 second-round pick and conditional 2019 fourth-round pick plus minor leaguer Grayson Downing to the Arizona Coyotes for center Martin Hanzal, forward Ryan White and a 2017 fourth-round pick, reports ESPN's Craig Custance.
