DETROIT – Did you notice the Detroit Lions purposely snapped the ball through Jared Goff’s legs during their win over the Panthers?

Ben Johnson is just showing off at this point. The Lions had already made headlines by completing a double reverse flea flicker to Sam LaPorta earlier in the game, but it doesn’t seem like anyone noticed that they also snapped the ball straight through Goff’s legs while he was under center.

Even the announcers thought it as just your everyday direct snap to David Montgomery in the backfield. But take a closer look:

I’m not sure it really affected the Panthers, because Montgomery got hit about 2 yards downfield anyway, but he bounced off and turned the run into a 10-yard gain.

Everything was going the Lions’ way Sunday, so Johnson took the opportunity to break out a couple of trick plays. Who knows what else he’ll come up with before the season is over.
