DTE answers top questions as more than 100,000 customers remain without power

DTE’s storm emergency preparedness and response director addresses restoration concerns

More than 100,000 DTE Energy customers remain without power following Friday’s severe storms.

The utility says it expects to restore service to about 90% of impacted customers by the end of the day Sunday.

As crews continue restoration efforts, many viewers have reached out to Local 4 with questions about how DTE decides which areas get power restored first, what resources are available for customers who depend on electricity for critical medical equipment, and whether the company reimburses customers for food spoiled during an outage.

To answer those questions, we spoke with Brad Craig, DTE’s storm emergency preparedness and response director.

Watch the full interview above for Craig’s responses to your questions.
