DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers have been on a roll lately as they sit atop the American League and are tied for the best record in the MLB, thanks in part to some players having magical seasons.

On Wednesday (July 2), three players on that magical run are joining some elite company as second basemen Gleyber Torres, outfielders Riley Greene and Javier Báez have been named to the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star game in Atlanta.

For the Tigers franchise, it will be the fourth time that they have had three fan-elected All-Star starters in a single season since 2007, 1985, and 1984.

In 2007, the Tigers had catcher Iván Rodríguez, left fielder Magglio Ordóñez, and second baseman Plácido Polanco.

In 1984-1985, the Tigers had second basemen “Sweet” Lou Whitaker, catcher Lance Parrish, and pitcher Jack Morris.

If and when pitcher Tarik Skubal hears his name called, then the Tigers will have four of the eight defensive positions on the diamond in front of the baseball world.

With four potential All-Star starters, it would be the first time since 1966 that a feat was achieved.
