ATLANTA – The American League clubhouse for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game is looking gritty as the Detroit Tigers sent six players and a bat boy to the Midsummer Classic.
The feat ties their highest total ever, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the most All-Stars this year.

This marks the fourth time in franchise history Detroit has had six All-Stars, matching totals from 2013, 1985, and 1984.
In 2013, Detroit sent Miguel Cabrera (starter), Prince Fielder, Torii Hunter, Jhonny Peralta, Max Scherzer (starter), and Justin Verlander.
The 1985 Tigers were represented by Lance Parrish (starter), Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker (starter), Willie Hernandez, Jack Morris (starter), and Dan Petry.
In 1984, Detroit sent Parrish (starter), Whitaker (starter), Trammell, Morris (starter), Hernandez, and Chet Lemon.
The Tigers sent five players to the Midsummer Classic in 2007, including Carlos Guillén, Magglio Ordóñez (starter), Plácido Polanco (starter), Iván Rodríguez (starter), and Verlander.
The 2025 American League squad will field four of the nine starting positions, marking the fourth time Detroit has had three fan-elected All-Star starters in a single season since 2007, 1985, and 1984.
Javier Báez, Riley Greene, and Gleyber Torres have been voted All-Star starters for the American League.

It's the fourth time in franchise history we've had three fan-elected All-Star starters in a season, also accomplished in 1984, 1985, and 2007. pic.twitter.com/AAkIy4pXxS
With Mize’s addition, the American League will have two Tigers pitchers for the first time since Verlander and Scherzer in 2013.

Although Detroit ended the first half of the season losing four consecutive games, including a three-game series to the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park, the Tigers enter the All-Star break with the best record in baseball since 2006, when they reached the World Series.
For context, the Tigers were swept in a season series by the Mariners in 1984, the same year Detroit won the World Series.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, how about we take it one step at a time and focus on Tuesday’s (July 15) festivities at 8 p.m. inside Truist Park in Atlanta.
